Arrests

There were 27 arrests made in Wealden last week.

9 of which were for assault in Hailsham, Hellingly, Uckfield, Lower Willingdon, Rushlake Green and Crowborough.

2 individuals were arrested in Hailsham for possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

We made an arrest in Uckfield for drunk and disorderly in a public place.

A driver was arrested in Herstmonceux for being over the alcohol limit.

Other offences included failure to appear at court, theft from another person, criminal damage and threatening with an offensive weapon.

Targeting anti-social behaviour this summer holidays

A joint operation between our Neighbourhood Youth Officers and the Safeguarding Lead from Hailsham Academy saw proactive patrols around known anti-social behaviour hotspot areas such as:

These patrols will continue across Wealden throughout the summer, helping to prevent ASB before it starts and ensuring everyone can enjoy the holidays safely.

Driving with no MOT and no insurance?
During patrols on Saturday night, one vehicle caught our attention in Crowborough after checks revealed it had no valid MOT and no insurance. The vehicle was subsequently seized.

If you're behind the wheel, make sure your vehicle is road legal before you set off. A few quick checks could save you from losing your vehicle, receiving penalty points, a fine, or even facing prosecution.

We'll continue carrying out proactive patrols across our communities to help keep our roads safe.
